TUTV Says Farewell

GeorgeCummingsRetirement-1

As we bid a bittersweet farewell to our Assistant General Manager, George Cummings, we welcome Leigh Pullekines to the TUTV team this holiday season. This is a time of change; with change comes opportunities for growth and new beginnings.

Few people have contributed more to TUTV’s creation, development, and success than George Cummings. As a valued member of our leadership team, he has encouraged, enlightened, and motivated our students over the years.

As a Temple University alumnus and multiple Emmy Award recipient, he led some of the station’s most challenging and successful projects, including the 2012 London Olympics, our live coverage of the 2015 Papal Visit to Philadelphia, the 2016 Democratic Convention, and much more. His dedication and leadership serve as an inspiration to all those who strive for excellence.

George’s vision and dedication led to the creation and launch of a TV Production Workshop that inspires and empowers aspiring producers. The workshop offers a unique opportunity for students to learn the foundational protocols of Live Sports Production both in the field and the studio, paving the way for their future success.

While we are saddened by the fact that he will be leaving us at the end of January 2024, we feel grateful for the opportunity to have worked alongside someone who has made such a significant impact on our organization. As he embarks on this new adventure, we wish him all the best and know he will continue to achieve great things.

The good news is that we can still benefit from his wealth of experience and extensive knowledge as he takes on the role of a consultant for TUTV and the Rudman Media Center.

Along with this goodbye, there is also a welcome aboard. Please join us in welcoming the new TUTV Programming Manager, Leigh Ingram Pullekines.

Leigh’s arrival at TUTV from Philadelphia’s NBC10 and Telemundo 62 inspires us all. As a talented director with an impeccable reputation in the regional broadcasting community, she brings an impressive portfolio of innovative work, a deep understanding of the latest TV technology, and an unwavering commitment to supporting the next generation of media professionals. We are honored to have Leigh as part of our team.

Leigh Brings vast expertise and experience to TUTV. She is determined, proactive, and values inclusivity. She was recognized for her work on an NBC10 Holiday Special with an Emmy Award, which was broadcast both locally and across NBC-owned stations nationwide.
