Inside The Nestis a dynamic football program presented by OwlSports Update Productions, which broadcasts every Tuesday at 12:00 PM throughout the fall semester. This award-winning, student-produced show features comprehensive recaps of the prior week’s games, insightful previews of upcoming matches, engaging interviews with players and coaches, detailed game analyses, and thrilling highlights.
This semester, Sam Cavone and Hayden Bandel will lead the anchor desk, providing comprehensive coverage of Temple Football with assistance from reporters Kayla Levine and Jackson Batchler.

Temple Pilots is a student group formed to help fellow students produce short films with TUTV. With the help and support of TUTV, this program delivers an array of exciting stories in the form of a series of short films.
Death in Debtis an original story by Temple Pilots Productions about a struggling funeral parlor owner who devises a macabre plan to keep the business afloat. When Jayna-Lee selects photographer Jake Hunter as her next “client,” Jake’s fiancée Aubrey becomes suspicious of her beloved’s sudden death. She enlists the help of Sal and journalist Touma Stone. Death in Debt features Nina Koripella, John Michael Fioravanti, Alana McCullen, Ryan Bortolotti, Safwaan Ahmer, and Steven Olsen, directed by Kieran Cunningham and Meredith Hunter.

Each year, Temple University Television collaborates with PRowl to grant graduating seniors the opportunity to see their dreams come to life on television. This year, Khalia Horton, a ’24 Klein College of Media & Communication Public Relations student, shared her desire to have a memorable rooftop lunch with her friends at the Charles Library before they graduate. Thanks to TUTV, Khalia’s wish became a reality, creating an unforgettable experience for her and her friends.
This summer, Temple University Television is teaming up with NBC10 for an extraordinary Klein GO program of Olympic proportions! While Natalie, Maggie, Rachel, and Hayden take on the City of Lights, another talented group of students, volunteers, and staff will support them from Annenberg Hall.
MEET THE HOME TEAM
Charly Schultz is a third-year Media Studies & Production and Journalism student at the Klein College of Media & Communication. With her experience working as an Executive Producer for Temple Update, Charly will use her organizational skills as the Senior Producer for the Paris Home Team.
Mariam Akraz is a fourth-year Media Studies & Production student at the Klein College of Media & Communication. She will utilize the leadership skills she has acquired while working on OwlSports Update to lead the Home Team as the Director for all three live programs.
Sydney Binkly is a fourth-year Media Studies & Production student at the Klein College of Media & Communication. Syndey will harness the technical skills learned in Paul Gluck’s TUTV Practicum to work alongside Mariam as the Paris Home team’s Technical Director.
Madeline Gillespie is a fourth-year Journalism student at the Klein College of Media & Communication. You may have seen Madeline as the host of Temple Tonight, weather reporter for Temple Update, or correspondent for The Temp. Madeline will harness the range of the on-camera skills she has learned to co-anchor TUTV Live In Paris live from Annenberg Hall.
Paddy Heckard is a fourth-year Media Studies & Production student at the Klein College of Media & Communication. You might have seen Paddy anchoring for OwlSports Update. Paddy will use the on-camera skills to co-anchor TUTV Live in Paris alongside Madeline from Annenberg Hall.
Connor Magee is a third-year Media Studies & Production and Journalism student at the Klein College of Media & Communication. He will use the skills he has learned producing and anchoring for Temple Update Now to line-produce for the Paris Home Team.

The Uptick, created and produced by Klein College students, shares the latest and most impactful news within the Temple and Philadelphia communities. The program explores how these communities are connected to significant global issues by conducting first-hand interviews with those serving the community.
(Recorded in Spring 2024) In this episode of The Uptick, hosts Rachel Williams, Jake Leonard, Meg Doyle, and Lauren Morris cover and discuss many hot-button issues in Philadelphia. Lauren and Meg sit down with featured guest Maleek Jackson, a South Philly native, boxing coach, and personal trainer. Together, they discuss his inspirational story of how he turned his life around after spending ten years in prison by creating a successful career in coaching and mentoring the city’s youth. Other stories in this episode include a family’s struggle to find justice after Chuckie Maude III lost his life to gun violence and an interview with members of the Philly Falcons, the city’s first LGBTQ+ soccer team.

More about Maleek: Maleek Jackson was born in the heart of South Philadelphia and became involved in a life of crime during his teenage years. At 16, Maleek was sentenced to 8-16 years in prison. After spending ten years in prison, Maleek decided to start all over. He discovered his love for boxing and fitness in prison and made his dreams a reality. He is considered the top personal trainer in the Philadelphia area. He trains a plethora of city officials, professionals, athletes, and entrepreneurs. He created a sponsorship program called “A’zim Dukes Initiative,” “here he provides boxing sessions for inner-city youth in the Philadelphia area. Maleek is living proof that itit’sever too late to start over.
From the City of Brotherly Love to the City of Love!
This summer, Temple University Television is teaming up with NBC10 for an extraordinary Klein GO program of Olympic proportions! Four students will venture from Annenberg Hall to Paris to capture stories showcasing the thrill of the Games.
Chris Blackman, Klein’s Director of Career Services, will lead the group on their journey to Paris! Before joining us at Temple, Chris worked in international media markets worldwide and in Philadelphia, where he served as the VP of News at NBC Philadelphia.
Natalie Koranda is a fourth-year Communications Studies major at Klein College. You may have seen her anchor for OwlSports Update. Natalie will use the skills she has learned here to report on the socioeconomic and environmental impacts of large-scale events like the 2024 Olympic Games on surrounding communities. “…I cannot even begin to describe how excited I am to be able to create stories internationally while covering a world-class event,” Koranda wrote.
Hayden Winter is a fourth-year Media Studies & Production student at Klein College. He has demonstrated his proficiency in directing, editing, and producing various TUTV Live shows such as Temple Update and OwlSports Update. With these skills, he will utilize his expertise to report, edit, and produce captivating live content from Paris.
Maggie Pzywara is a fourth-year Film & Media Arts major at the School of Theater, Film & Media Arts. She is eager to deepen her understanding of film and media in the City of Lights by reporting live and gathering content from Paris.
Rachel Williams is a third-year Journalism major at Klein College. You may have seen her hosting TUTV original programs such as We Need to Talk or Artists Among Us. Rachel is passionate about storytelling and will use her skills as a Witty Wordsmith to report live from The City of Lights.

After an extensive interview process, including portfolios, pitches, and more, Natalie Koranda, Hayden Winter, Rachel Williams, and Maggie Przywara were selected to participate under the guidance of Klein Career Services Director Chris Blackman.
The group will travel to Paris to gather material and content about the socioeconomic and environmental impacts of large-scale events like the 2024 Olympic Games on surrounding communities.
At Annenberg Hall, a group of students, under the leadership of Mariam Akraz and Charly Schultz, will oversee content production for the on-campus “Home Team.” Mariam and Charly will assume the roles of directors and producers for this endeavor.
In preparation for their trip, the students have participated in cross-cultural teachings on and off campus with Director of Global Opportunities Allie Miller and Student Success Program Coordinator Hannah Braid.
Associate Professor and TUTV General Manager Paul Gluck, KLN ’76, and Blackman have also led journalism-based labs and supplied the students with insights from their expertise working in national and international television production.
The result of this mix of work and exploration will air LIVE on TUTV from the streets of Paris at 12:00 pm EDT on Tuesday, July 23, Thursday, July 25, and Tuesday, July 30.

Maggie and Miza discuss how Miza’s family became a significant musical influence on him and more. Later, Miza performs his original songs “Thoughts While Apart” and “Never Go.” Miza is a Filipino musician from Philly and a Health Professions Major at Temple University. Having created music as a solo singer/songwriter for years, he is ready to share his sound with the world!
