Shedding Light is TUTV’s first show focused on student disability and offers an in-depth look into the experiences and challenges faced by the differently-abled at Temple University. Hosted by Remington Vaughan, this series premiere touches on disability representation, inclusion, personal narratives, and more.

First, Remington welcomes Janelle Vuong, a Global Studies major, who shares her journey of living with juvenile idiopathic arthritis. Janelle candidly discusses how her condition affects her daily life as a student and how she navigates the academic environment while managing her disability.

Later, Remington is joined by students Barbara Lewandowski and Meg Mohr, along with Dr. Scott Gratson, the director of undergraduate studies. Together, they engage in a candid conversation about the challenges and realities of living with a disability on a college campus, offering insights into accessibility, academic adjustments, and personal advocacy.

Finally, Carry Snyder, the director of Temple University Disability Resources & Services (DRS), tours the DRS center. Carrie sheds light on a wide range of services and resources available to students, aiming to support those with disabilities and ensure equal opportunities for all members of the campus community.
