Dr. Aaron Smith, known as “The Rapping Professor”, brings a recipe for what he called “North Philly Southwestern Eggrolls” which are also vegan, as Aaron himself is, to the set of Baker Dave’s cooking show. Aaron, an Assistant Professor in the Department of Africology and African American Studies at Temple University, went viral for writing and performing a rap about being a freshman and being new to the university, encouraging students to persevere. He and Baker Dave prepare his dish while discussing cooking techniques and why Aaron went vegan, among other topics.
