It was originally written for American soldiers to help them understand why the United States was involved in the war, but US President Franklin Roosevelt ordered distribution for public viewing.
1:30 & 9:30 PM11 Bravo Vietnam: A Soldier’s Story is a virtual scrapbook of one young man’s experiences in combat from the day he received word of his induction to his homecoming. He sings of terribly brief friendships on the battlefield, the searing awareness of his mortality, and the random forces that preserve one life and take another. He tells of the importance of family and humor.
2:30 & 10:30 PM Excelsior Forever Upward tells the life story of a WWII combat veteran and the love of his first car, a 1939 Ford Fordor. As a tribute to WWII combat veteran Gordon B. Lofquist and the crew he served with on a B-17 for the U.S. 8th Air Force, this special shows how Lofquist used his imagination to get himself through difficult missions during WWII when he thought he was going to die.

4:00 PM & MidnightGino Merli: The Healing Hero is a 40-minute docudrama that recounts the World War II exploits of Congressional Medal of Honor recipient and lifelong northeastern Pennsylvania resident Gino Merli. The Merli program, which stars regional actor Michael Fallon and is based on a play written by Tom Flannery, is co-produced by Bob Shlesinger and Scranton Public Theatre. The show depicts Merli’s extraordinary heroism at age 20, which resonates throughout his life. The docudrama intercuts World War II archival motion picture footage and photographs within four dramatic scenes that span the last afternoon of Merli’s life.

Queer Temple is TUTV’s first LGBTQIA+ series, co-created by Temple Alumni Christopher Smith and Andreas Copes. The program examines the world through the eyes of LGBTQIA+ individuals, focusing on current events, history, and life in the queer community.
LGBTQIA+ history and education are crucial for understanding community dynamics. Temple University’s Pride Class, also known as CSI 4628: Empowerment of the LGBTQ+ Community Through the NYC Pride March, is a course that teaches students about the history of Pride, the LGBTQIA+ community, and how to get involved in the New York City Pride March.
On the Fall 2024 semester premiere of Queer Temple, host-in-training Lee welcomes the Director of Undergraduate Studies and Director of Communication Studies at Klein College of Media & Communication, Dr. Scott Gratson, Ph.D. Ph.D. (he/him) to the show. Dr. Gratson has served in various capacities for NYC Pride since 2017, including Captain of Spectator Services, for which he was awarded Volunteer of the Year by Heritage of Pride in 2022. Gratson created and teaches the “Pride Class” featured in this episode.
