TUTV celebrates our 10 year anniversary October 1

10 Year Anniversary

PHILADEPHIA, Oct. 1, 2020 — Temple University Television (TUTV), Temple University’s digital cable station, is celebrating its 10th anniversary this month. Launched on Oct. 1, 2010 by Professor Paul Gluck, the station was started with a vision to create a TV broadcast studio to professionally develop college students looking to produce and edit media.

In May 2010, Temple University’s Klein College of Media and Communication received a $1.2 million donation from the Kal and Lucille Rudman Foundation to produce TUTV in Temple’s Annenberg Hall. Since launching the cable station, TUTV has received dozens of collegiate awards from notable organizations such as the Mid-Atlantic Emmy® Chapter and College Broadcasters, Inc. Today, TUTV produces more than 30 shows, including the critically acclaimed Temple Update and Owl Sports Update news broadcasts.

“For 10 incredible years, it has been my privilege and pleasure to witness the talented, tenacious students who have created original, engaging content for TUTV as they have moved forward, earning their rightful place in the next generation of media professionals,” said TUTV’s General Manager Paul Gluck. “Working with our creative staff is pure bliss. None of what we have been able to accomplish would be possible without the fervent support of the Kal and Lucille Rudman Family Foundation. We are also most appreciative of those who are kind enough to watch our work on cable, online and social media.”

TUTV continues to provide students with top-tier access to filming and editing resources. To follow the station’s 10th anniversary celebration, visit TUTV’s social media pages.

Bell Tower

Welcome to Temple, incoming freshman and transfer students! It might be a different kind of first semester than many expected, but for that reason TUTV is even more determined to provide students the best chance at starting off on the right foot. TUTV is one of those resources that we hope students will seek to utilize during their time at Temple.

A little about ourselves: Temple University Television (TUTV) is committed to serving as a showcase for the best work by Temple students, faculty and alumni. In other words, we broadcast content produced by you! To submit your original work to TUTV, take a look at the submissions section of this website.

Of course, the best way to learn more about what TUTV is all about is to watch our 24/7 programming! If you have cable in your student living quarters, tune in to Comcast channel 50 or Verizon channel 45, depending on your cable provider. If you don’t have cable, just watch online.

And if you have any questions at all, just shoot us an email using our contact form.
