Award-winning student film explores cultural identity

Izzy from the Art of Being Izzy

The Art of Being Izzy follows a hardheaded Chinese American student as she struggles to accept her culture while at college. The film explores how attitudes of personal identity can effect self-development and how one treats others.

Made in the Directing and Producing Capstone course in the Media Studies and Production Department, half-hour narrative film was shot and edited by Eli LaBan, directed by Colin Pawlowski, and written by Christina Lew. It won first place in the long-form category and second place in long-form script at this year’s MSP Awards.

Watch it on TUTV on Friday, December 12 at 12:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.
