You’ve earned a break! Kick back and relax this holiday weekend with TUTV. We will be airing a marathon of Flash Gordon on Monday, September 7 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
TUTV General Manager Paul Gluck recently spoke to news anchor Lucy Bustamante remotely via Zoom for a new edition of Temple People. Bustamante is a Murrow award winning, Emmy nominated, bilingual journalist. She currently serves as a morning news anchor for NBC10 and breaking news anchor for Telemundo62. Lucy is the daughter of Cuban refugees who migrated to the U.S. in 1969. She is also the Co-President of the NAHJ (National Association of Hispanic Journalists).
Lucy and Paul discuss how she got into television journalism, her coverage of Hurricane Katrina, and how it feels similar to covering the coronavirus and protests in Philadelphia now. Watch the half-hour long program this Thursday, September 3 at 1 and 9 p.m. on TUTV.
Welcome to Temple, incoming freshman and transfer students! It might be a different kind of first semester than many expected, but for that reason TUTV is even more determined to provide students the best chance at starting off on the right foot. Student success depends a great deal on taking advantage of all the resources the University can provide, on campus and off. TUTV is one of those resources that we hope students will seek to utilize during their time at Temple.
A little about ourselves: Temple University Television (TUTV) is committed to serving as a showcase for the best work by Temple students, faculty and alumni. In other words, we broadcast content produced by you! To submit your original work to TUTV, take a look at the submissions section of this website.
Of course, the best way to learn more about what TUTV is all about is to watch our 24/7 programming! If you have cable in your student living quarters, tune in to Comcast channel 50 or Verizon channel 45, depending on your cable provider. If you don’t have cable, just watch online.
And if you have any questions at all, just shoot us an email using our contact form.
During the coronavirus lockdown, TUTV has been focused on using our platform to help support schoolchildren, families, and teachers who are facing another school year learning from home. To that end, TUTV has worked with the early education experts on faculty at Temple University’s College of Education to offer ADVICE FROM THE CLASSROOM, a special series designed to aid those folks now teaching their children at home.
“Advice from the Classroom” is a program designed for parents to learn smart ways to make education at home engaging and fun. Watch the premiere of a one-hour special presentation of the collaborative programming this Thursday, August 27 at 1:30 and 9:30 p.m. on TUTV.
The Mid-Atlantic Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) released the nominations for the 2020 Mid-Atlantic Emmy© Awards, and Temple students received more nominations in the College section than any other university, with a total of 16 finalists in 6 categories ranging from cultural affairs to sports. TUTV original shows Temple Update, OwlSports Update, and We Need to Talk were included in the list of nominations. Additionally, four out of six students nominated in the Talent category are from TUTV.

A new special one-and-a-half-hour long retrospective episode of Your Best Life revisits some of host Lisa Bien’s favorite interviews.
Formerly known as Bouncing Back, Your Best Life is hosted by Lisa Bien, a professional marketing strategist and Temple Public Relations Professor, who created this program in an effort to give Temple students and other viewers insight into their own misgivings concerning self worth while presenting real life examples of personal struggle with self acceptance.
Tune in Monday, June 15 at 12:30 and 8:30 p.m. for the latest episode.
We are happy to announce that we will air the PHLove COVID-19 Benefit from last month on TUTV this coming week. The one-hour virtual variety show features Questlove of The Roots, Daryl Hall, Patti LaBelle, DJ Jazzy Jeff, and a collection of celebrities and artists from the City of Brotherly Love, to shine a spotlight on the PHL COVID-19 Fund, which has raised $16 million dollars and aided nearly 400 regional nonprofits since being created on March 19.
John Middleton, the managing partner of the Phillies, and his family organized the event to benefit the fund.
Tune in to TUTV on Tuesday, June 9 at 1 and 9 p.m. and again on Saturday, June 13 at 12:30 and 8:30 p.m.
The Klein College of Media and Communication special on-air toast to graduating seniors from May 7 will air on TUTV in full this week.
