In a new, powerful episode of Bouncing Back, host Lisa Bien speaks to William Brawner, the founder and Executive Director of the Haven Youth Center, a non-profit that provides educational, social, and recreational services to HIV youth.

Infected via transfusion as a toddler, Brawner has been HIV positive for almost his entire life. After spending years struggling with the physical and mental implications of his medical condition, he finally managed to bounce back and has since dedicated his life to helping young people with these same issues.

He currently serves the Southwest Philadelphia community in an effort to provide free testing and a safe, supportive recreational space for those with HIV/AIDS.  There is also a documentary out now on William Brawner’s life and personal struggle with HIV titled 25 to Life.

Watch this moving program tomorrow, Wednesday March 11 at 12:30 and 8:30 p.m. online or on Comcast 50/Verizon 45.
