TUTV’s Classic Movie Saturdays continues August 2 with Hitchcock’s witty and compelling comic thriller from 1938.
The Lady Vanishes concerns a young English tourist traveling by train in Europe (played by Margaret Lockwood) who discovers that her elderly traveling companion (Dame May Whitty) seems to have disappeared from the train. After her fellow passengers deny ever having seen the elderly lady, the young woman is helped by a musicologist (a young Michael Redgrave), and the two proceed to search the train for clues to the old woman’s disappearance, which results in many plot twists and unexpected developments.
The film will play Saturday, August 2 at 12:30 and 8:30 p.m.
