BLAM! (Black Lives Always Mattered!: Hidden African American Philadelphians in the Twentieth Century), is a graphic novel presenting the history and impact of Black Philadelphians through rich and compelling narratives about their lives. Watch the virtual launch of the project, in which curators, historians, artists, web designers, and others involved in the project dig deep into the creative process, looking at how the project evolved while providing a captivating way to learn about the “hidden figures” of African American history and their invaluable contributions to Philadelphia.  Scheduled for publication in 2021, BLAM! is a Charles L. Blockson Afro-American Collection project supported by The Pew Center for Arts & Heritage.
