2020 Diversity Symposium Workshop

The workshop portion of the 2020 Diversity Symposium is led by Dr. David Brown, Assistant Professor at Klein College, and Dr. Valerie Dudley, Director of IDEAL. This last session in the Symposium examines how we bring our authentic selves to the work that we do in the classroom and outside the classroom. Being authentic in the classroom starts with building trust, demonstrating interest and concern, sharing interests and experiences, making time to converse with students, and displaying elements of your humanity. It is crucial that authenticity shines through in the classroom as it leads to brighter futures for both professors and students.
