On today’s segment of Beyond the Page, we are joined by Karen Warrington to discuss the book They Carried Us by Allener M. Baker-Rogers and Fasaha M. Taylor. We hear from the authors themselves to explain the stories of black women in Philadelphia and talk about their work. The book is a collection of the biographies of 95 African American women. The book covers topics such as movement activism and community activism from the eyes of these strong individuals.
A collection of lectures featuring particularly prominent speakers, many of whom are guests to the university.
