Klein Lecture: R. Lance Holbert

The Journal of Communication receives roughly 750 original submissions annually, and the trend line indicates a continued increase in that figure for the coming years. Now that Dr. Holbert has been in the role of the outlet’s editor-in-chief for a few years, he will be sharing thoughts regarding peer-review procedures, editorial decision making and how these processes are evolving. The goal of the talk is to help scholars better understand where best to place their work and how to navigate the journal submission process.

R. Lance Holbert is a professor within Temple University’s Department of Communication and Social Influence. He studies persuasion-based processes of media influence within the context of politics. He has authored or co-authored over 90 peer-reviewed journal articles, books, and book chapters. Professor Holbert is a Distinguished Research Fellow in the University of Pennsylvania’s Annenberg Public Policy Center and was recently named an International Communication Association (ICA) Fellow.
