Dr. Andrea Wenzel, Assistant Professor of Journalism, discusses her new book, Community-Centered Journalism: Engaging People, Exploring Solutions, and Building Trust. Dr. Wenzel draws from engaged journalism and solutions journalism case studies from around the U.S. to outline a model for building trust between communities and local media. In doing so, she analyzed a process model of community-centered journalism that considers a particular location’s stakeholders in its community coverage, and determines how journalism can adapt depending on the needs of the specific community in each geographic area.
