Humanities Lecture: Claudia Castro Luna

Hundreds of young women have disappeared from the border city of Juárez since the early 1990s, many of them violently murdered. Writer and poet Claudia Castro Luna discusses this phenomenon in this lecture, “Imagining their Voices: The Murdered Women of Juárez”, which is part of the Boundaries Lecture Series.

Castro Luna is currently serving as the Poet Laureate of Washington State (2018–2020). The talk will be based on her most recent book, the Pushcart-nominated Killing Marías, a collection of poetry inspired by the missing women of Juárez.
