The Maynard Institute for Journalism Education, The Philadelphia Inquirer, and Philadelphia Association of Black Journalists held the second “Philly Voices” conversation and workshop. This event features key leaders in the Philadelphia-area media, philanthropic and academic communities. The goal of this gathering was to develop strategies and partnerships to help reframe the coverage of African-American men and boys, which often has focused disproportionately on stories about crime and violence.
