Holocaust Stories: Anneliese Nessbaum

Anneliese Nossbaum was born in Guben, Germany, but by 1935 her family’s citizenship was revoked and she was banned from attending pubic school. During November 9th-10th, 1938, also known as Kristallnacht, the Nazis burned her synagogue down. In October 1944 she was deported with her mother to Auschwitz, Poland. Upon arrival she was selected to work in the slave labor camp. Nossbaum tells her story in this program.
