Just when Stanley T. Banks (Spencer Tracy) thinks he has finally reached that stage in life where he can relax, he is rudely awakened to the fact that he is going to be a grandfather. Jostled, lambasted, demoralized and humiliated by the events of his daughter (Elizabeth Taylor) having a baby, he is the only one not delighted with the idea of the new arrival. (1951)
