Temple University Television (TUTV) is Temple’s digital television station, committed to serving as a showcase for Temple students, faculty and alumni. That means we air content produced by the Temple community, and that includes you! Have you always been interested in becoming involved in media production, performance or screenwriting? Would you like to appear on TV someday? TUTV is here to help you achieve these goals. There are many ways TUTV can provide you a chance to get your voice heard and bring you experience along the way.
You can submit your original work to TUTV, or take a class that produces programming with other students and teachers, such as Temple Update and A Broader View, or you can volunteer to work on the production teams of our regularly scheduled TV shows, such as Temple Talk or OwlSports Update. Take a look at our list of shows and see if anything interests you. If you have any questions at all, just shoot us an email using our contact form.
Of course, the best way to learn more about TUTV is to watch our 24/7 programming! If you have cable in your living quarters, tune in to Comcast channel 50 or Verizon channel 45, depending on your cable provider. If you don’t have cable, you can watch online.

In 1948, Philadelphia hosted both the RNC and DNC and made broadcasting history by airing both nationally for the first time. The city was at the center point of the Boston to Richmond coaxial cable, then the main carrier of live television in the United States.
Whether you’re in town for the convention or living in Philadelphia already, there are many events going on this week and next to take advantage of. We’ve listed some highlights below.
A multi-location exhibition celebrating American history, government and the road to the White House, PoliticalFest is a non-partisan display that combines multimedia and interactive displays, historical objects and special events to entertain and engage both residents and convention attendees.
When: July 22-27
Where: The National Constitution Center, the Pennsylvania Convention Center, National Liberty Museum, Philadelphia History Museum, The Philadelphia Library Company, Historical Society of Pennsylvania and the Heritage Center at the Union League.

Philly Feast will feature food trucks and food vendors that represent the best, most diverse eats the city has to offer, including Gigi & Big R, Foolish Waffles, Philadelphia Distilling, Luke’s Lobster, Vegan Commissary, Taco Mondo, Nomad Pizza and Underground Donuts, among others. In addition, there will be live music on the main stage.

TUTV will air DNC 2016 coverage in partnership with Temple Update starting this Sunday. But what is the purpose of political convention? Though we see them covered by the media, we may not understand their importance nor what delegates and politicians have gathered to accomplish. Temple asked Political Science Department Chair Robin Kolodny to break it down for us. Check out the video to learn what happens at political conventions in the United States.

The newest episode of Bouncing Back with Lisa Bien seeks to educate viewers about Alzheimer’s, an incurable and little understood disease of the mind.
Lisa brings two guests to the set of her show who have personal experience with the disease. Brigid Smith, a Marketing Specialist for the Temple Health system, has had two grandparents diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and describes how the disease impacts caregivers. Nancy Venner–a Broadcast Journalism Temple alumna and the Senior Director of Philanthropy for the Delaware chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association–provides scientific and physiological insight into the disease and answers many common questions, including explaining the difference between dementia and Alzheimer’s.
