All day October 31, we’ll be airing our Nick the Beat horror movie series, including Horror Hotel, Carnival of Souls and Mill of the Stone Woman. Our Nick the Beat series is a limited run of classic horror and thriller films with an introduction by Temple Theater student Alex Monsell as “Nick the Beat,” a hip ghost from the 60s haunting Annenberg Hall. Temple Tonight returns to TUTV Saturday

Temple Tonight hosts

Temple Tonight, the late night talk show for TUTV audiences, returns with an all new episode this Saturday. Hosts Demetri Pascoe and Tom Leonard present the first annual “Garbage Bag Awards,” which highlights the worst jokes they could find. NBC10 Traffic reporter, former Miss Philadelphia and Temple student Francesca Ruscio visits the set and describes how she juggles her immensely overscheduled life as a student, news reporter, and model/media personality. Later, Indie pop band Junipur perform a song.

Baker Dave Presents… Banana Fritters

In a new episode of Baker Dave Presents, Resident Director of Hardwick Hall, Siobhan Skerritt, visits to share a family recipe. Siobhan, whose family is from Monserrat, prepares the classic Caribbean comfort food banana fritters. Banana fritters are almost like pancakes but sweeter and eaten without syrup.

New Temple Talk airs Tuesday

A new episode of Temple Talk premieres Tuesday, October 25 at 1 p.m. on TUTV.

Hosts Marissa Giletto, Sean Gnitzcavich, Rachel Keller, and Justin Obendorfer discuss everything from the Donald Trump-Billy Bush video to the first male cover model for Teen Vogue. Later, they interview long-time Philadelphia sports radio personality and Temple alum Tony Bruno.  In addition, food blogger Roberta Pipito from Homemade Delish comes to the set to provide an in-person demonstration of how to cook easy and cheap college meals. Finally, musician Brian Walker performs.

Media Inside Out premieres this week

Media Inside Out premieres this week with an all-new episode exploring the subject of youth media.

Media created by youth has become a growing industry. It’s a way for young people to learn about the world and explore their artistic ambitions and as an outlet for self-expression. It’s also a way for them to engage with their communities and learn to become positive digital citizens.

Host Sherri Hope Culver is joined by Craig Santoro from WHYY Public TV and Teri Yago-Ryan from the Big Picture Alliance, who are both part of organizations that have been running youth media programs for years and are able to share their insights about the importance of media created by young people.

Tina Fey to receive Lew Klein Award live on TUTV

2016 Lew Klein Alumni in the Media Awards featuring Tiny FeyTUTV will air the 2016 Lew Klein Alumni in the Media Awards LIVE. Tune in to TUTV on Friday, October 7 at noon and 8 p.m. to see SNL‘s Tina Fey receive the Lew Klein Excellence in the Media Award.

In addition to receiving the award at the ceremony, Fey will address students at an exclusive “Conversation with Students” reception. Although Fey did not herself attend Temple, her brother, Peter, and late father, Donald, are graduates of the School of Media and Communication. Last year, the Fey family established a scholarship to support veterans at the school in order to honor Donald Fey, who attended SMC after serving his country in the military. This event was sponsored by TUTV and the Kal and Lucille Rudman Foundation. Learn more about the Lew Klein Awards.

Every Saturday this semester we’ll bring you non-stop sports coverage for two full hours. It begins this weekend at 11:30 a.m. with the return of Temple Athletics, a TUTV original sports show looking at the coaches and student athletes of Temple’s many sports programs.  Next, we’ll re-air the Fall 2016 premiere OwlSports Update at noon in case you missed it during the week.  Finally, We Make The Call, our hour-long sports talk show, puts out an all new episode at 12:30 p.m.
