She doesn’t have Greek heritage, but Kathleen says she makes this recipe at least once a week to eat at home. As a vegetarian, she finds that this is an easy and satisfying meal to consume regularly. While cooking, the two discuss Kathleen’s work helping students and the University create environmentally conscious decisions and embark proactively on projects to help the environment.

In a new episode of From the Temple Student Film Vault, watch a short documentary about famous fashion designer Betsey Johnson. Johnson, who is now very well known for her off-the-wall and colorful designs, is interviewed in the early days of her long career, around the time that her fashions were associated with Andy Warhol and Edie Sedgwick. Sporting a bowl cut and dark eye make up, the business owner and designer describes her attitude towards her work and her life.

In a collage of text, movement and song, A Fierce Kind of Love explores the largely untold story of the intellectual disabilities rights movement in Philadelphia and Pennsylvania from 1968 to the present. It was described as “a transcendent, modern, and startling performance of humor and poignancy, outrage and sweetness” by The Inquirer. The story is told by a cast of mixed abilities, including five well-known Philadelphia-area performers.

Pat Ciarrocchi spent 33 years at CBS3 beginning in 1982 and, in 2014, became the first woman inducted into the Pennsylvania Association of Broadcasters Hall of Fame. This week, she talks to Temple student Hannah McComsey on a new episode of Temple People about her career arc, from her small town beginnings in Hagerstown, Maryland to her decision to retire a few years ago. She also shares her sage advice to other women looking to enter the news media industry.

Find out how Temple University’s Center for Sustainable Communities is helping Philly create green stormwater and beautify blight in a new documentary produced by Temple students.
This short film highlights the Center for Sustainable Communities’ efforts to create green stormwater through a community-driven geo-design process in areas by 6th and Diamond Streets, Hostos Charter School, and Memphis Street Academy. The Project Team created a conceptual Green Stormwater Infrastructure (GSI) plan for the study area and visualized three specific GSI project site plans, followed by three design charrettes conducted in three lower-income and minority neighborhoods.

PNTV is a student-produced newscast born from PhiladelphiaNeighborhoods.com, which aims to cover underserved parts of the city and take a look at the stories that effect its citizens. Hosts Aish Menon and Sarah Metts highlight the bigger and more controversial topics, including the new soda tax and how the Trump Administration’s immigration policy could impact Philadelphia, as well as the smaller and more intimate stories, including efforts to combat crime in the Grays Ferry and Port Richmond neighborhoods and a behind-the-scenes look at a trendy restaurant in Hunting Park.

The World at Temple is the first and only TV talk show that’s aimed at international students at Temple University. For the pilot, which airs Wednesday, international students from all around the world come together to discuss their experiences at Temple and their lives at home. Ksenia Berestetska from Ukraine, Rithik Gangwani from India, Lei Zhao from China, and Ayah Alkhars from Kuwait share their stories. Zhao also demonstrates how to make dumplings.
