Political cartoonist Lalo Alcaraz

Alcaraz is the creator of the first nationally syndicated, politically themed Latino daily comic strip, “La Cucaracha,” which is read in American newspapers nationwide. In this talk, Lalo Alcaraz presents his vast body of work in political satire, but especially his pro-immigrant and Latino-themed cartoons in a visual lecture spanning three decades. Alcaraz covers the origins and inspirations of his career and the reactions to his controversial work. He also discusses his recent and upcoming work in television and film.
