TUTV was launched on October 1, 2010, and is a multi-media, city-wide Temple University-wide resource housed in Temple’s Lew Klein College of Media and Communication.
TUTV’s cable channels, online platforms, and social media assets provide a digital showcase for the best work done by Temple students, faculty, staff, alums, community partners, and professional broadcast partners
TUTV is a 24/7 educational cable television channel–it is not a public access channel nor a public broadcasting station.
TUTV works with instructors on projects in their courses but does not drive academic curriculum.
TUTV is a cable-only distributed channel with no broadcast transmitter.
TUTV is carried on Comcast channel 50, Verizon channel 45, and Temple University campus channel 1074 within the city of Philadelphia.
TUTV is available outside city limits via live stream 24/7 at templetv.net.
TUTV studios are located on Temple’s Main Campus in Annenberg Hall Room 107 in The Kal and Lucille Rudman Media Production Center.
TUTV operates under an agreement with the City of Philadelphia, which provides TUTV with the bandwidth to enter into a franchise arrangement for cable distribution.
Under that agreement, TUTV is required to meet the same technical, editorial, and community standards commensurate with any broadcast station.
