Queer Temple Returns

Queer Temple 2406 Queer SchoolingB

On this episode of Queer Temple, host Thalia Lash (they/she) dives into a conversation about Queer Education, what it looks like in and out of the classroom, and why it matters.

First up, Thalia sits down with members of the Queer Homeschooling Group (QHG)—students and parents Lauren Rowelloe (they/them) and West Duffy (they/them). They talk about what it’s like to navigate homeschooling as queer individuals, the challenges they’ve faced, and the freedom that comes with creating an affirming learning environment.

Later, more members of QHG—Ceibhfionn “The Biter” Kennedy (they/them), Cheryl Good Fryer (she/her), and Wren Fryer (he/him)—join the discussion to share their own experiences with alternative education. They touch on everything from designing inclusive curricula to finding community outside traditional schools.

Plus, Thalia brings in Dr. Nu’ Rodney Prad (he/him), Director of Student Engagement for IDEAL (Institutional Diversity, Equity, Advocacy, and Leadership). He breaks down the programs and resources available for queer college students, from mentorship opportunities to student-led initiatives, and why institutional support is so crucial.

That and so much more! Tune in to TUTV on Wednesday, February 5, at 12:00 & 8:00 PM or watch it anytime on templetv.net.
