Introducing Steve Lipman

Meet Steve Lipman, a Temple University sophomore and aspiring comedian, who began performing stand up comedy in New York at the age of 12! TUTV caught up with him during a recent standup performance at the Helium Comedy Club in Philadelphia on March 28, 2013. Shot by Temple graduate student Gino Canella, the video is available to view above. A full version of his performance is coming soon to TUTV!

Lipman, whose comedy style is combination of boyish charm and Jewish anxiety, has performed his act all over the country on a steady basis. He’s also had the opportunity to perform with some of the biggest acts in comedy, including Judah Friedlander, Jim Gaffigan and JB Smoove. After being profiled in the Philadelphia Inquirer and winning 2010′s “Best Up and Coming Comedian” in Main Line Today, Steve is a rising star in the entertainment community.

TUTV also spoke to his parents, who have come to share Steve’s remarkably serious view regarding his career aspirations. “Steve has been trying to make people laugh since he was 2 years old,” says Terri, his mother. “Of course we worry about his future. We know it’s difficult to have a career in show business. But comedy is his dream, and we support it.”
