Humanities Lecture: Damien Stankiewicz

In this lecture, titled “(Post-)Utopia in 21st-century Europe: Ethnographies of Vision and Disillusionment”, Damien Stankiewicz discusses the ongoing mutations of national and trans-national identity in Western Europe. As a visual anthropologist and anthropologist of media, he focuses on the role that mass media plays in reconfigurations of belonging and culture, as the nation-states articulate between Europeanization, globalization, and reconsolidation.

Damien Stankiewicz is a professor in the Department of Anthropology.
