Ethical Society Lecture: Lynne Andersson

Guest Lynne Andersson, Associate Professor of Business & Society at the Fox School of Business, in conversation with host Hugh Taft-Morales, explores the main competitor to NGOs and non-profit organizations in the realm of international development: philanthrocapitalism.  Can entrepreneurs and venture capitalists help improve impoverished areas more effectively than non-profits, or does self-interest end up corrupting development efforts? Andersson’s research focuses on the dark side of business organizations as well as the role of social activism in countering capitalist barriers to sustainability. She is currently on the Board of Directors at the Sustainable Business Network of Greater Philadelphia.
