We Make The Call: April 11, 2014

The conclusion of March Madness sparks a conversation about underdog UConn and whether the team achieved victory on its own merits or if the teams they’ve faced sabotaged themselves by their poor performance, specifically with free throws. As Jon Dimuzio and Rebeccah Hendrickson breakdown the often overlook important statistic of the free throw, Tara Miller and Andrew McDevitt bring up UConn player Shabazz Bozie Napier’s controversial post-game interview.

Switching gears, they discuss the dominant force that is UConn’s Womens Basketball team in comparison to the mens team. As the conversation turns to the NFL, the crew revisits the Philadelphia Eagles’s long history of beloved athletes leaving the team and returning on the opposite side. They then move on to end on a sport rarely discussed: golf. Miller and Hendrickson speak about the casual fan’s lack of enthusiasm for the Master’s Tournament without star athlete Tiger Woods, as McDevitt and DiMuzio explain their love for the game and their personal experiences on the golf course.
