Roya Fahmy, an Instructor in the Temple School of Social Work, steps into the studio to discuss social work in Germany with  Helmut Jansen, a colleague and visiting lecturer to the Temple School of Social Work. Professor Jansen begins by explaining the origins of German social work on the role poverty and the industrial revolution played in it’s inception. Jansen also outlines the difference between the American and German social work education trajectory. This leads to how Germany handles field work for social work students. Jansen also discusses the effects of multiple nearby countries and nationalities.
