Three Temple students take a closer look at the animal adoption process in an urban environment. By working with local shelters and rescue organizations, they see behind the scenes of what goes into adopting pets. In particular, this documentary highlights organizations that pride themselves as “no-kill” rescues and shelters. A “no-kill” shelter does not kill healthy or treatable animals, even when their facilities are full, reserving euthanasia for terminally ill animals or those considered dangerous to public safety. Home examines these organizations as well as patrons and advocates of animal adoption to assess the benefits as well as the challenges that come with pet rescues.
