Created by journalism student Nydja Hood, The Vibe is Temple University’s first hip-hop culture and music television show, which provides a platform to artists at Temple and beyond. On The Vibe, students discuss what is trending in popular culture as well as feature rappers, poets, singers, and more.
The Vibe: Episode 20
It’s Sydney Umezurike’s last time as host on The Vibe, and she lets her creative side shine in her farewell episode. The long-time host and contributor performs her own poetry. During the Poppyn’ Topics segment, Sydney has a frank discussion with Kole Long and Jimmy Seykot, two Media Studies and Production majors, on the topic of mental health. Plus, we follow her to the Women in Media Summit where she interviews Janvieve Naemni, the author of The Art of Rock Bottom and How to Bounce Back, and learns more about the art of personal branding. The audience then enjoys a live rap performance by Rio and Solo.
