Temple Update: April 23, 2015


Rebeccah Hendrickson opens the program reporting on Philadelphia’s new bike share program, Indego, and the positive effect it will have on the city and its many communities. Taggert Houck reports live from the Philadelphia Museum of Art at the official Indego roll out. Rebeccah Hendrickson addresses the national issue of free college as the Community College of Philadelphia boasts its “Gateway to College Program” that allows low income students the opportunity of a free education. Students discuss the issue of widespread poverty in the wake of the next mayoral election, and Grace Nonnemaker reports from the field to find out more about the dining options offered at Temple University and the meaning behind some of the prices.

Kylie Winkler discusses the benefits of the Jumpstart program for both Temple  students and local children and their families and speaks with a few participants in the program to find out a bit more about what the organization is all about. Simone Cuccurullo kicks off the sports segment by introducing the Penn Relays before handing it off to Rocco DiSangro, live from Franklin Field, for a breakdown of what to expect.
