Tommy Sladek and Stephanie Hirsch are joined by Temple Gymnastic’s Head Coach Aaron Murphy. Murphy talks about his experiences being in the Temple Gymnastic’s program and how his transition from student athlete to assistant coach to head coach was an unexpected journey that rapidly snowballed. Murphy touches on his recruitment effort, and how Philadelphia is able to attract athletes from New York, New Jersey, and D.C. Murphy also goes on to expound on the victories at conferences and how the gymnasts have performed above and beyond in the classroom. Later in the program, Brittanie DeMeno and Natali Ruzich shed light on the life a student athlete. The two speak on balancing the work load, and DeMeno is able to comment specifically on how the workload of a grad student differs from when she was pursuing her undergrad degree. They also talk about how they diet and their double workouts that lead into their practices. The teammates tell the two hosts their goals for the season and what their approach is to winning the ECAC championships.
