OwlSports Update: January 31, 2019


Sarah Metts and Andrew Adames start with some Temple Basketball. The men’s ten beat one of the top teams in the AAC, Memphis, but lost to Cincinnati after losing their lead in the second half. All in all, the Owls are 15-5 as they go into their next game with a nationally-ranked Houston team. Despite the successful season, there are still areas where the Owls can improve. Adam Crognale has more on the Owls’ standing in the conference and their rebound struggles. Also faring well is the Women’s Basketball team, who clinched their first win of 2019 against ECU. Spencer Tracy joins the desk to talk about Temple Women’s Gymnastics’ first win under the new coaching staff. Ahead of the Temple Women’s Lacrosse season opener, Steve Schwartz speaks with rising star Maddie Gebert, who scored 33 goals last season. Sean Rodman checks out the sabre squad of Women’s Fencing who hope to set more records this season.
