OwlSports Update: December 5, 2019


Sean McGeehan and Brian Steinmetz kick off the show with some good news. The Owls receive season honors from the AAC, and Jadan Blue is named AAC’s Defensive Player of the Year. The anchors recap Temple’s final matchup of the year against UConn, as the Owls leave UConn winless in the AAC in 2019. Brooklyn Vaughan has more on Jadan Blue’s outstanding comeback season and what’s in store for him in the new year. Dom Gillaspy breaks down the Owls’ first season by numbers, claiming that this is some of the best football the Owls have played in many years. The Men’s Basketball team travels to Florida over Fall Break for the Orlando Central Invitational, losing to Maryland but winning over Davidson. Lindsey Moppert learns more about a transfer student-athlete of the Men’s Basketball team, Tai Strickland, who has spent his first season on the bench and is now ready to hoop. Matt Daly talks to Dr. Nikki Franke, Head Coach of the Fencing team, to find out how Temple finishes at the Garret Open. Both the Men’s and Women’s Cross Country teams break program records at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regionals. Before signing off, the anchors talk about their picks for the season awards.
