North Philly Now: Episode 2


On this edition of North Philly Now, host Deja Parker talks to Faruq Scott, an Assistant Administrator at the Philadelphia Streets Department, and Amani Reid, an Owls On The Block Fellow at Temple University. Deja and her guests discuss Philadelphia trash pickup and litter problems, as well as what students can do to help the Streets Department get their arms around the issue. Later, the show takes a closer look at the growth of the highly anticipated Philly Fashion District. Sarah Frank, Marketing Director of the Fashion District, shares with Deja how this newest mall in Philadelphia is the destination for food, fashion, film, and fun, while also helping local communities. Finally, the show welcomes Monzella Allen, Vice Chairwoman of the Kuumba Family Institute, to learn more about the many resources that are available from this non-profit organization.
