Philadelphia’s music scene is bursting with talent, and In Performance is all about bringing that energy straight to viewers. Produced by TUTV Practicum students, the show gives audiences an up-close look at some of the city’s most exciting local artists through live studio performances and one-on-one interviews.
In this special hour-long episode, host Jesse Kosierowski sits down with not one but two rising musicians, each bringing their own unique sound and story to the stage. First up is Pillbook, a Philly-based artist and student in Temple University’s Audio and Live Entertainment program. He started out playing in a garage rock band at 15 and has come a long way since, releasing EPs, albums, and singles and even taking his music on a national tour. In his interview, he discusses what drives his creativity, how he approaches producing, and the artists who inspire him. He also delivers powerful performances of his original songs, “The Fire” and “StayLaz.”
The second guest, singer-songwriter Morgan Leese, has been writing songs since 2020 but only recently picked up the guitar in 2024. For her, music has been a way to push past self-doubt and break out of her comfort zone. She opens up about what songwriting means to her, the emotions behind her lyrics, and the journey she’s been on as an artist. She then takes the stage to perform two of her original songs, “Burning” and “Moon,” giving listeners a heartfelt, intimate glimpse into her world.
With its mix of personal storytelling and live music, In Performance continues to celebrate the creativity and passion of Philly’s music community. Tune in to TUTV on Wednesday, April 16, at 12:00 PM and 8:00 PM, or watch it anytime on templetv.net, Roki, Apple TV, or Fire TV.
