Celebrate 100 years of The Temple News

The Temple News is celebrating their 100th anniversary and will be hosting a series of seminars, speaker series, and events throughout the year. Their first publication, formerly known as the Temple University Weekly, was printed on September 19, 1921. Since then, the award-winning student publication has become the paper of record for the Temple community, releasing 2,000 copies biweekly.

The first event in the series is highlights reporting done in the 60s, 70s and 80s by hosting the following notable guests:

  • Richard Leiby, Klein ’78, Editor at the Washington Post
  • Ellie Fisher, Klein ’73, Author and former United Press International editor
  • Irv Randolph, Klein ’81, Managing editor of the Philadelphia Tribune

The speakers will discuss how they navigated covering some key issues of their generation, such as Watergate and the Civil Rights Movement. TUTV will be airing the event on Wednesday, October 27th at 1 and 9 p.m. Tune in to join the celebration and hear from some of Klein’s greatest alumni!
