Watch documentary on Florida’s Northern Everglades on Wed

Kissimmee Basin

Kissimmee Basin is a stunning documentary on the history of the Northern Everglades, shot in spectacular HD. Travel through the Kissimmee Valley back through time to discover the well-reasoned, yet unforeseen, consequences of a flood control project that turned the 103-mile long meandering river full of life, into a 52-mile long, multi-million dollar over-engineered channel that drained the surrounding wetlands, caused the disappearance of large flocks of wading birds, and a significant decline of an abundant freshwater fishery.

Tune in to TUTV this Wednesday, June 12 at 2 and 10 p.m. to see this documentary produced in 2013 by WUSF, Tampa Bay’s NPR station.
