The release date of the fourth adaptation of A Star is Born is set for this year, directed by none other than Philly’s own Bradley Cooper, and this time starring Lady Gaga as the titular star. Since the prototypical Hollywood fable is coming (back) soon to a theater near you, it seems high time to go all the way back to the beginning, to a 1937 Technicolor picture produced by David O.
