Media Inside Out examines Internet meme culture

Anna Orso and Alison Novak with host Sherri Hope Culver

If you grew up with the Internet, you’ve probably never had to ask what a meme is. By nature, a meme is a visual that is instantly recognizable, reproduced in countless permutations, and shared by legions of Internet users all over the world. What does meme proliferation say about how we’re consuming media today? What does it say about what has importance in our lives?

In a new episode of Media Inside Out, host Sherri Hope Culver examines the relevance of memes and viral videos in today’s media landscape. She discusses this topic with guests Anna Orso, a reporter for BillyPenn.com, and Alison Novak, Assistant Professor of Public Relations at Rowan University.

Don’t miss this new episode of Media Inside Out. Tune in to Comcast 50/Verizon 45/online on Wednesday, December 9 at 12:30 and 8:30 p.m.
