Documentary on disabled young adults premieres Friday

Ability Speaks

TUTV is happy to present another insightful documentary into an often overlooked set of Philadelphians. Ability Speaks is a documentary made by Temple students that aims to spread awareness of the unique difficulties young adults with disabilities in the Philadelphia area face. The film achieves this by peering into their day to day lives and depicting how they cope with entering society after they are finished with their schooling. The documentary also features programs that are available to help adults struggling with disabilities, including the Kaleidoscope Family Solutions and the T.O.D.A.Y. Program.

A lot of times society tends to focus on the needs of disabled children but what happens when those children grow up and are out of the system? Find out by tuning into TUTV at 12:30 p.m. Friday, June 28. It will re-air at 8:30 p.m.

The film was made by Temple students Kristalyn Anderson, Sean Sullivan, and Ana Duda for a media production class taught by Kristin Trever Weatherston.
