Former Saturday Night Live chief cameraman, Jan Kasoff, will share his insights into TV production Wednesday, March 20 at 3 p.m. in TUTV’s TV Studio 1 at Annenberg Hall. Admission is free, so bring a friend!
He’ll be talking to students about his career, his life behind the camera, the personalities he worked with, and a number of backstage stories, so come with your questions ready.
Jan Kasoff in his early years at NBC
An NYU graduate, Kasoff was Cameraman for the NBC Television Network for 36 years and Saturday Night Live for 26 years. Kasoff worked for the News & Sports Divisions covering the Olympics, Watergate Hearings, Meet the Press, NBC Nightly News with Tom Brokaw, Major League Baseball, National Football League games, MSNBC, and national political conventions; with the Entertainment Division, he also worked on soap operas, games shows, and TV specials. Mr. Kasoff won six Primetime Emmy Awards for Saturday Night Live and two Emmys for coverage of the Olympics.
Although Jan Kasoff officially retired in March 2001, he still works on a variety of NBC productions.
