Soccer

Zahnay Blakney and Kevin Guest take a look at Temple Soccer and speak with David MacWilliams and Seamus O’Conner, the head coaches of the Men’s and Women’s soccer teams, respectively. MacWilliams discusses the tough season that the men’s team faced in the past year including a grueling schedule, the number of goals scored, and how the game has changed. Coming off of a very different season, O’Conner talks about the women’s team’s amazing eleven wins, compared to the six wins during his first year as coach. He also discusses playing style, a winning streak, and the differences between  men’s and women’s soccer.

In the second half of the program, the hosts are joined at the news desk by two current Temple soccer players, Paula Jurewicz and Matt Mahoney. The two discuss the effects of having a young team, being role models, the intensity of college level practices, and more.
