Episode 1

Student films from students attending the School of Media and Communication during the 1970s and 1980s are shown. First, A Filmmaker’s Film, a short film by Bob Saget from 1978 wherein he portrays a pretentious auteur filmmaker and features an appearance by Temple’s own Sister Sledge–in a musical number with Saget, no less. Next, two short documentaries: John Jonik, about the political cartoonist, by Bill Stein and Pat Jonik and, Billy, about South Philly singer Billy Ruth made in 1980 by Leo Trombetta.
