After an awkward encounter with his ex, Sam reconnects with his friends and recounts a strange discovery — a mysterious wooden box hidden in a tree. Inside, the group finds an old cassette tape and faded newspaper clippings connected to a tragic 1995 fire that destroyed the Scotty’s Community Theater during a New Year’s Eve performance of The Nutcracker. What begins as a curious discovery quickly turns into a deeper mystery when the tape reveals a cryptic message promising rewards to those who follow its clues. Determined to uncover the truth, the friends begin investigating the decades-old tragedy, despite warnings from locals who insist the past should stay buried. As they dig deeper, they realize the events surrounding the fire may not be as simple as history remembers — and that some secrets are far more dangerous than they appear.
