On December 18, 2024, the Temple Owls etched their name in NCAA history with a thrilling 62–61 victory over Davidson, becoming just the sixth Division I men’s basketball program to reach 2,000 all-time wins. To celebrate this milestone, Temple University Television’s Courts in Session team produced Built on Broad: 2,000 Wins and Counting—a powerful documentary honoring the program’s legacy, its legendary coaches and players, and the enduring spirit of Temple Basketball.
Recorded in the spring of 2025, this special presentation takes viewers on a journey through decades of triumph, perseverance, and pride—showing how Temple Basketball’s foundation of grit and teamwork has carried the Owls to greatness.
The production’s excellence has not gone unnoticed. Built on Broad: 2,000 Wins and Counting earned first place for Best Sportscast at the 2025 College Broadcasters, Inc. (CBI) National Student Media Awards in Denver, Colorado—one of only a handful of programs to rise to the top from over 1,000 national entries. The documentary was also nominated for a 2025 Mid-Atlantic NATAS Student Production Award in the Long Form category, further cementing its reputation as an example of student media at its best.
