SMC Lecture: Verizon Chair Symposium

Temple University School of Media and Communication brings together more than a dozen guests–from writers and producers to executives and performers–who have conquered the digital landscape to discuss all this and more. The 2014 edition of Temple’s Verizon Symposium for Global Broadband Communication, #EnufAboutU What About Me? will offer a series of conversations that focus on the shifting-by-the-day landscape, yielding what organizers promise is a list of “252 Things to Know About Making a Career (and Making Money) in the Digital World.”

The first set of panelists are Mac Eldridge speaking on the importance of sacrifice from his experience at PGA Entertainment; Conrad Montgomery delves into his long work history before his current position at Cartoon Network; Mike Busza gives his personal story on producing a Temple show; Harvard Law graduate Kevin Basin sheds light on the legal perspective of practicing law in entertainment; and Dwayne Booth, aka Mr. Fish, details his story from leaving college to pursue his passion.

The second part of #EnufAboutU features Mitch Semel from HuffPo Live to discuss the immediacy of the digital landscape;  Sherri Hope Culver brings in her knowledge of local programming as the Head Coordinator for Media Inside Out; filmmaker Austin Chapman gives tips on how to expand your digital audience; Jay Sterin of Triton Digital expanding on marketing; Kevin Arseno speaks about the overexposed elements of digital community; and John Campbell  warns of the perils of how unforgiving the digital landscape can be.
