Make Me a Sandwich

Make Me a Sandwich combines entertainment and education by looking at key female actors that went beyond the role of housewife and aided in paving the road for a better representation of females in sitcoms. Some of the women depicted are Roseanne Collins from Roseanne, Lucille Ball from  I Love Lucy, and many more leading up to modern day comedies such as Sex and the City. Temple professors Paul Gluck, Sherri Hope Culver, and Jim McKairnes expound upon the history women in sitcoms and how they have transitioned from housewife to full fledged show-stars such as Hannah Horvath in Girls. These educational interviews are paired with sketches parodying these iconic characters.
